Abstract This study aims to explore the role of the Directorate of Education in Jerash Governorate in promoting sustainable tourism among school students through the activation of community partnership. The researcher employed the descriptive-analytical method, using a questionnaire that covered the following domains: tourism awareness, the role of the Directorate of Education, community partnership, and challenges. The questionnaire was distributed to a sample of 116 school principals and teachers in Jerash Governorate, who were randomly selected from the study population of 182 principals and 3,356 teachers in public schools in the governorate. The findings revealed a weakness in activating community partnership to support sustainable tourism within schools, and no statistically significant differences were found in the participants’ views regarding the role of the Directorate of Education in Jerash Governorate in promoting sustainable tourism among students, attributed to the variables of gender (male/female) and position (principal/teacher). The study recommended adopting an educational policy in Jerash to enhance sustainable tourism through curriculum development and training of educational staff, in order to overcome challenges and ensure the activation of the educational and participatory role in supporting sustainable tourism development. Keywords: Directorate of Education – Jerash/Jordan, community partnership, sustainable tourism.
