This study aimed to propose a vision for enhancing the role of governance in driving progress in a fair and sustainable manner, through a comprehensive analysis of educational literature, research, and previous studies during the 2024/2025 academic year. The study focused on providing clear practical steps to implement governance principles and prepare leaders and competent cadres to ensure sustainable progress and continued excellence in light of rapid technological developments. What distinguishes this study from others is its reliance on an analytical approach as a basis for extrapolating previous studies to understand the reality, challenges, and opportunities of governance, in order to build a long-term vision for activating the role of governance in driving progress in a fair and sustainable manner. The study was based on an in-depth review of previous research findings. The results demonstrated that governance represents a key enabling factor for achieving sustainable development, as it provides the regulatory and value-based framework that supports effective decision-making and integrates the principles of transparency, accountability, and sustainability into institutional policies and practices. Studies have shown that good governance is not an administrative luxury, but rather an essential requirement for achieving sustainable development goals in their environmental, economic, and social dimensions. The study recommends the establishment of sustainability units or committees within institutions responsible for aligning institutional activities with environmental, social, and economic governance (ESG) indicators and ensuring integration between institutional performance and sustainability requirements.
