Abstract

Allah Almighty revealed the Quran in seven Ahruf (modes/dialects), and among the meanings of these Ahruf is that they are seven Arabic languages in which the Quran was revealed. The relationship between the Quranic readings and the Seven Ahruf is that of a part to the whole; the Quranic readings are components of the Seven Ahruf. The intention here is not the literal number but rather abundance. As for the reality of the Quranic readings, it is the manner of performing the words of the Holy Quran and clarifying their differences. The researcher traced this manner and found it to be integrated with the phonetic phenomena of Arabic dialects.

The researcher found his objective at the Second International Conference on "Cognitive Integration Between Arabic Language Sciences and Islamic Sciences in Light of Contemporary Challenges"; through which he aims – by the will of Allah Almighty – to highlight an aspect of the cognitive integration between Quranic readings and Arabic dialects, by clarifying the most important phonetic phenomena in Quranic readings (principles and details), and linking that to the concept and purpose of the Quran's revelation in seven Ahruf.

This research will be divided – by the will of Allah Almighty – into: an introduction, two chapters, and a conclusion. In the introduction, the researcher will discuss the relationship between Arabic dialects and Quranic readings, the dialects of Arab tribes in Quranic readings, and the relationship between dialects and the Seven Ahruf. The researcher divided this study into two chapters: Chapter One: The Most Important Phonetic Phenomena in the Principles of Readings and Arabic Dialects; and Chapter Two: The Most Important Phonetic Phenomena in the Details of Letters and Arabic Dialects. The conclusion will present the most important findings reached by the researcher and the recommendations that can be drawn from this research.

In conclusion: I hope that this research will contribute to revealing the integration between languages and mutawatir readings, and help researchers understand an aspect of the cognitive integration between Arabic language sciences and Islamic sciences.
