Abstract

Arabic rhetoric has undergone rich development across the ages in its concepts and methodologies; however, its connection to digital technology remained limited until recently. With the emergence of artificial intelligence technologies and the advancement of natural language processing (NLP) tools, new horizons have appeared for re-reading Arabic literary texts through a digital approach based on stylistic modeling and the analysis of rhetorical imagery.

This study aims to explore the potential of artificial intelligence in renewing Arabic rhetoric through a digital reading of aesthetic styles in literary texts. The research adopts a descriptive-analytical approach, supported by applications of natural language processing and advanced language models. It focuses on analyzing rhetorical devices such as metaphor, metonymy, antithesis, paronomasia, and structural parallelism in selected samples of Arabic poetry and prose.

The findings indicate that AI tools can effectively identify linguistic patterns and stylistic features with high accuracy, particularly at the structural and surface levels. However, their ability remains limited in capturing deeper semantic meanings and complex cultural contexts that require human interpretation. The study also reveals a clear gap between automated analysis and human critical evaluation of literary aesthetics.

The study concludes that integrating classical Arabic rhetoric with AI technologies offers promising opportunities for advancing literary studies and enhancing methods of textual analysis. It recommends developing specialized language models that account for the cultural and rhetorical specificities of the Arabic language to achieve more accurate and nuanced digital readings.
